A pertinent release this week of our newest routine to Justin Timberlake's "Can't Stop The Feeling". The routine has been fully road tested on some local clients here in Kent and has been nodded through as a keeper. It is most jolly.
JT is correct in his assertions that feelings can not be stopped. I had this very conversation with a wonderful friend only yesterday, while regailing my woeful knee tales and admitting to her that I was feeling somewhat despondent despite my best efforts to stay positive. I've done "all the things", staying active, reframing positively, booking onto a new coaching course, diligently doing physio, journalling, lighting candles etc etc but the reality remains. I have been strongly advised I will need surgery to recontruct my anterior cruciate ligament and concurrently have my torn meniscus repaired before I can do anything fun again like riding, running, skiing and playing team sports. For now I can walk, swim (front crawl/backstroke only - which for me resembles controlled drowning, might need a lesson or two...), cycle or cross trainer (yawn) and physio. OH WELL. Surgery is planned for later in the year so the time being I'm trying to avoid Reddit forums and ACL recovery stories on YouTube....with varying success.
Out of the rain comes a rainbow, silver linings, blah blah blah. I might finish the novel I've been writing for about 15 years and I might read the 100 greatest novels of all time. We will see.
I can definitely use the time i'll have recovering to create some excellent disco routines and think of new ways to jazz up land of the jodphur. For that is my life's purpose it would seem.
