Hello 2026

I'm sitting in a coffee shop on supposedly the saddest day, BLUE Monday. But then, I rewatched a video one of our coaches sent me - some footage of her first Disco of the year in Angus, Scotland.

I've edited a small clip of the start of the routine because it made me chuckle.

If you've watched the music video for Queen's "I Want To Break Free" you will understand why Coach Shelagh is strutting across the arena with a hand held hoover. Brilliant!

Pretty impossible to be blue with that much joy.

I've also just drunk a shot of a spice I bought in a souk in Marrakech this weekend which promises to deliver 100% energy, so looking forward to a productive day ahead. The melting pot of the streets of Marrakech offered an insight into a culture where cars, motorbikes, horses with carts and pedestrians could all travel together in somewhat chaos. The horses generally looked well looked after and unstressed by the noise.

All our coaches are keeping warm with their new disco beanie hats and starting to plan their events for this year in their regions. I'm heading into a choreography zone for our first theme of the year which is going to be Madonna "Get Into The Groove". I have a private session in Kent in February for a disco rider who has booked it for her birthday party! I'm sure it's going to be great fun.

We are operating with 7 coaches at the moment (including me) and there's plenty of scope for more in other regions. It would be great to get to 10 by the end of 2026. More coaches + more discos = more happy riders + more happy horses = more joy.

Have a good one!
