Springing into sunshine

It's been busy in House of Hawkins, with kittens born mid March and now a little pup who has arrived from Spain. It was very hard to rescue a puppy from a UK charity, so we found one in need abroad via a charity. That really wasn't hard, a fantastic experience so far although we have been plunged into toilet training, sleeplessness, keeping our Mumma cat feeling safe while she nurses her babies and all the other things that a new heartbeat in the house brings.

The Easter holidays are almost upon us, so the rhythm of my work changes, with less structure, more time to think and create, while also managing a busier household. I am very much enjoying the Spring flowers, sporadic sunshine and getting outside more. Winter was restful (kind of) which I think enables the energy to burst through with more contrasting effect.

Burns Night finally happened, later than the calendar entry, I love the passion that exudes from our Scottish contingent. How fabulous it would be to find an APC based in Wales and also one in both bits of Ireland where we could work to bring to life some of their cultural musical traditions through disco dressage.

Coach Shelagh's tribe in Angus, fully embracing the very spirit of disco dressage with a routine set to "Strip the Willow", some highland dancing choreography and a lot of tartan!

Onwards we go, Disco Goes Orchestral is now live for our coaches to use with their riders. I'm working on the next theme for lead-rein and first-ridden level children/pre-teens which is Disney's Zombies. The choreography is ace. Floorplan is in the "studio" (my head), next steps are getting it published for my coaches.

It's lunchtime now, so more baby animal duties and a short walk in the sunshine.
